may-2009-010Solms-Delta Farm Tours

As one of the leading Franschhoek wine farms in the Cape Winelands, Solms-Delta’s special interest guided tours exceed the conventional wine tasting experience.

Our unique guided wine farm tours expose visitors to more than just award-winning wines. Led primarily by farm residents, the tours offer rare personal insight into the vineyards, farm workers’ lives, and the cultural and musical heritage of Solms-Delta and the surrounding Cape Winelands.

Our vineyards are beautiful and our wines speak for themselves. But the real value of this place is the people who shaped it. The true stories behind the wines are best told by the people themselves, many of whom are from families that have lived in the Cape Winelands, and on Franschhoek wine farms, for generations.

All our guided tours include wine tastings, and range in price from R40 to R85 per person. The following tours are currently available:

  • Cape Food and Wine Pairing Tour
A guided food and wine experience at Fyndraai, the farm’s restaurant in the old wine cellar. Experience the diverse culinary traditions of the Cape paired with eight Solms-Delta wines.
  • History, Archaeology and Wine Tour
Solms-Delta’s rich and bittersweet history is brought to life on this tour of archaeological sites, artefacts and gracious Cape Dutch buildings.
  • Social History and Wine Tour
Solms-Delta has been at the forefront of redressing the social and economic legacy of South Africa’s past. This moving tour highlights how the farm is improving quality of life for its residents.
  • Cape Music and Wine Tour

  • Natural Heritage and Wine Tour

  • Vineyards, Cellar and Wine Tour
From vine to wine, enjoy a guided experience that takes you through our vineyards to the secrets behind the cellar door, and finally to tasting the finished product - our award-wining Solms-Delta wines.
