6039The Solms-Delta Wine Estate thrives on culture, and our colourful Solms-Delta events calendar is inspired by it.

The Delta Trust and Wijn de Caab Trust were founded to help restore the livelihood of the locals living on the farm and in the Drakenstein Valley through a variety of efforts. It is one of the aims of the Music van de Caab project to explore, honour, preserve and develop the diverse musical heritage of the rural Cape. The various musical events that are staged by Solms-Delta are a direct result of the project’s and estate’s ongoing commitment to developing and sustaining local musicians and talent. It is especially hoped that the vernacular music of the Western Cape be brought under a more popular spotlight through the staging of our annual harvest festival called the Franschhoek Oesfees, our Summer Sunset Concerts and also the musical programme we have hosted as part of our involvement in the Franschhoek Uncorked Festival.

Funds raised from these events are used to bring a better quality of life to farm residents, and an awareness of the importance of culture and heritage to those living in the area. Solms-Delta also takes part in broader community events such as the Bastille Day Celebrations which allow us to come together as a farm and community to celebrate what it truly means to be ‘Hiervandaan’ or from this place.
