A real sense of occasion
I was privileged enough to be invited to the Klein Handjies Sertifikaat Oorhandiging, and what a special occasion it turned out to be. The venue was St George’s Church, the guests were friends, family and the Bergzicht Opleiding Sentrum teachers and officials, and the guests of honour our crèche teachers.
With the greatest care the crèche administrator Karin, had organised all the details to make this a real celebration and an event to remember.

We released our first wine at Solms-Delta in November 2005. This means we have been in the market for just over five years. In this time we have had some amazing successes:
Africana 2005 was included in Neil Beckett’s listing of the world’s most special wines ever (‘1001 Wines You Must Try Before You Die’). Beckett is the editor of ‘The World of Fine Wine’, a leading British wine magazine.
Tom Stevenson’s highly respected ‘Wine Report’ (2007) – the international equivalent of the Platter guide — included that same wine as one of the most exciting finds of the year, in the world. And in his ‘Report’ for 2008 Stevenson also included Koloni 2006 as one of the most exciting finds of the year.

kykNET Fiesta: Oesfees 2011
The Fiesta team visit the 2011 Franschhoek Oesfees held at the Solms-Delta wine estate in March this year. Hosted by musician Stef Bos, the half hour insert includes interviews with Mark Solms, co-owner of the farm as well as Chris Grobler, event organiser and various musicians and members of the public. The Harvest festival is a celebration of the end of the harvest and includes the farm workers, the general public as well as local musical talent. Franschhoek Wine farm road race and fun run
Join us for the 2nd annual Delta Draf this Saturday 30 April 2011. The 10km race starts at 08h00, the 5km at 08h15. Pre-order a Fyndraai picnic basket (with food, blanket, wine, kiddy meals if needed, etc) and stay for the day – these can be ready from 09h00 on request.
